What place would that be? It's the sixth largest city in the Netherlands, Tilburg! I had the chance to visit the place as one of my friends,Eelke lives here. We met in Jordan, where she was here for volunteering with Aiesec. Anyway I had my schedule right and I took the chance to.. yeah actually I'm gonna write everything here, just go on read..

Throwback when she was in Jordan. This time we were in Dana.
Okayy.. so Tuesday, 19th of September I got to Tilburg around 1800 from 's Hertogenbosch and I got her fries beforehand because, well fries is nice okay. So actually I was really lucky to be there by that time as when I arrived, put my rucksack back at her place and we off for... Cantus Party...wohoo ! The Party was organised by IESN Tilburg and it was lit.

We gotta sing the song together with the band !
Band with Benefit was so cool that night!
*You can find them on FB: https://www.facebook.com/bandwithbenefitsNL/
Actually I had no idea what to wear and she told me to wear something shitty because I probably will have drinks thrown at me(she was right!). The thing is after been travelling for a while I kinda look like a homeless and yeah that was a good idea. Simple t-shirt worked well for the party!

So everyone had the flag painted and I had mine!
MALAYSIA wohoo
The party start with The NLs' national anthem "Het Wilhelmus"
And off we go with the band started to sing and we all enjoyed the song, sang the song together and danced all way (can't be on table though) and guysssss the band is awesome, their selection of songs also very nice. Some of my favourite songs actually were in the list ! But I love "Country Road" the most. Belong to John Denver I gotta admit that by that time I had a lil bit tears in my eyes as the song played through the chorus:
"Country roads,
take me home
To the place
I belong
West VirginiaMountain mamma,
take me homeCountry roads"
Listen,if you're being abroad for a while (in my case since I was 18) and kinda hard to get back home,it will leave some effect to you. Shitzz am I being ridiculous here? Whatever. HAHA. Even though it was not the same version as the band sang the song with the rock version. But it still a nice one and I loved it. I could't find their video but I attach another band that sing the same song with rock version
The band sing the same version with this one. I love this!

Everyone is enjoying the party and happy!

This guy jumped up and down all the time and so chill!
nice to meet you O'Brien! Eelke really enjoying the night!
The party lasted for a while until late night.I think everyone really enjoy the party and after that some of the people went for after party in another place. We also headed to another place to have kinda short "break" after the party.I was kinda hungry after the party and thought that maybe just go back home. Well not really as I kinda felt hungry at that time so we stopped by the MacDonalds.ugh

It was a very nice party and I really enjoyed this one !

The DJ was so cool, thanked him for good jam and yep, snap a pic ! loool
The next day,we started our day with breakfast, she made me tosti. mmm lekker! Waited until the cheese melted and then with the crunchiness from the melted cheese and bread really made me happy to start my day. After finished the breakfast we went out for walk around Tilburg. We went to Tilburg's iconic church,St. Jozef kerk and.

Sint Jozef Church

The view from inside
After went to the church,we sat down for.. Appeltaart! It was a very nice day, sunny day and everyone was out to enjoy the weather, well we did the same, enjoy the good weather with food!

De appeltaart or The Apple pie in English
It's sooooo delicious that I ate it slowly, with the ice cream next to it,really made want more actually but we had another plan for it as I already planned to cook fried rice for both of us later that evening

The weather treated my very well there! haha no rainy day at all!
I also got the chance to visit Tilburg University where Eelke is currently studying right now.I spent my time for a while in the library with good speed wifi which allowed me to update my plan about upcoming place. Later she finished her class and we went back to her place together. While we were walking home, she told me about Tompouce
TRIVIA : The Tompouce was introduced by an Amsterdam pastry baker and named after Admiraal Tom Pouce

De Tompouce
The thing is,there actually ways to eat it,according to Eelke, some people may do it differently. HAHA she taught me how to eat this but I only remember some part of it as we had to tilt the Tompuce to its side and carefully separate the bottom layer?and then just eat everything or probably I forgot it but the thing is,I enjoyed this pastry! Thanks Eelke haha

Oh yeah she plays Harp which for me something not common in my place ! The bass guitar is mine XD
The next day,she made me Pannenkoeken (Pancake). While she were making them,we actually ran out of the sugar powder. So I helped her to get the powder for this! Easy task as she got me pic of it! haha Thankgod I got back before all the pancake ready!

Easy peasy task! haha
Well,as for the last day,I made the best out of it.She got me Roze koeken. I think she's really good with pastry.I didn't really know how to express myself,I just enjoyed the food and the time and I really would love to have this once again. And yeah I also think I could call her anytime to suggest me which pastry I should try next HAHA. *just kidding Eelke :P

Roze koeken
And later that evening we went out for one last time.We had pizza.A big pizza for each of us! It was sooo nice and well made! Totally satisfied with it

Look at the pizzas size!
As I left the place,I really hoped that one day I'll have another chance to visit this place again.Eelke, thank you very much for your time and effort.I really appreciate that! I hope that one day we can meet again for foods and party! I wish you all the best with your university and good luck!
Next stop? Utrecht! Stay tuned :)
